One of the Top guns in Costa Rica brings with him many years of experience in the sportfishing industry having fished the oceans from Maine to Florida including the canyons off the Northeast Coast, waters in and around the Bahamas, Dominican Republic, USVI, BVI, Venezuela, Mexico, Panama and of course Cost Rica. After fishing the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica in the late 1980's and seeing the abundance of fish, Mike decided that Costa Rica is truly a fisherman's paradise.
Family Aikens's Costa Rica Sportfishing, is dedicated to the preservation of the fishery in Costa Rica and area advocates to the use of circle hooks. It is a proven fact that circle hooks reduce the mortality rate by more that 95%
Mike is son of Captain Bill Aikens ,Both are U.S.C.G. Licensed Master Captains with 75 combined years experience in the sportfishing industry.
Captain Mike already put his boat in 1st place at the 2004 Los Sueños HMY SignatureBillfish Series conducting Jennifer Wojuk to the victory.
The Boat
Powered by twin 450hp Cummins diesels, equipped with the latest in electronics (GPS Chart Link, Color Video Sounder, Radar, VHF radio). U.S.C.G. Safety Equipment, lice well, Tuna Tubes, Fighting Chair, Penn International and Shimano reels with IGFA custom built rods and Penn Spinning Reels and Rods.
These boat was built considering the anglers' wishes, and offer equipment that would provide comfort and safety to fish the full spectrum of species year-round.
