RIO SAVEGRE ONE DAY (CLASS II-III)
Considered one of the cleanest rivers in Central America; the Savegre is an authentic full day adventure: relaxation and pure action while enjoying the fantastic landscapes. Due to it's biodiversity, the Savegre River Valley is nowadays a center of interest for scientific research.
This adventure starts with an early Costa Rican breakfast (other options available) in town, and then we drive south of Quepos on our a/c minibus. It takes 1 ½ hours through African oil palms, Teak reforestation projects and incredible landscapes to the river put in.
After a safety briefing we start maneuvering rapids like “Boca Diablo” and “Roller Coaster”. We stop for a short view of some amazing waterfalls and prepare a snack while you relax on the river shore. Before the end we hit the newly formed (as of 10/06) “Screaming Child” rapid and then the river tames down for a while until we meet with our mini bus. A five minute drive will take you to Silencio Lodge where a hot Costarican meal will be served on your table. After lunch is a 45 minute drive to Quepos.
Included: Transfers from Manuel Antonio/Quepos to and from Savegre River; breakfast at “El Patio”, river snack, Lunch at Silencio Lodge; all the specialized gear needed for the activity (helmets, life jackets, paddles); professional and bilingual white water rafting guides.
Not Included: Transfers outside of Manuel Antonio area, bar consumption at El Gran Escape and Rafiki Safari Lodge, video, photography service, gratuities for your guides. |
